ACWRRHS Annual Meet 2025, Wilmington DE
Dupont Powder Works drill press at the Hagley Museum.
DC Cebula hosted our 20th annual meet this year in his area. Where we visited the extraordinary Hagley Museum. The Hagley Museum is the home of patents over the last couple of centuries along with dozens of patent models. This was also the site of the Dupont Powder Works where many of the structures are preserved with an operating machine shop, water turbines and demonstrations on how some of the machines operated, including a drill press, planer and gear cutter. They provide a remarkable education on the production and uses forvarious industries and weapons. A visit well worth the trip.
DC expressing relief and disappointment.
We also spent Saturday afternoon at DC Cebula’s home operating his Delaware Central layout, It is in the early stages but his trackwork is 90% completed and he is beginning to work on the model railroad’s scenery. We finished off the day with a fabulous dinner a Jessops in New Castle. The building is 19th century and provided the perfect ambiance for our weekend trip into the past.
