On the third Thursday of every month at 8pm EST, the ACWRRHS hosts our monthly virtual meetings. During these meetings we have guest speakers give presentations to fellow members. We post to our society meetings and to our YouTube channel for public enjoyment & education!

Bruce is a retired elementary teacher with 40 years in the classroom. He has a BA in history and an MA in education. He is also the president of the Corona Model Railroad Society. 

 The focus of this presentation includes the consist, routes, and sharing his techniques in building an historical model of the train, with a car-by-car “form & function” comparison of the real train to his model.

Aug 12 - Dr. Joe Bailey - “The Second Rail: A Military History of the Nashville and Northwestern RR”

Dr Bailey is currently the Assistant Command Historian for the US Army Combined Arms Center and Fort Leavenworth. He holds a BS in History and an MA in Military History from Austin Peay State University and a 2015 PhD in American History from Kansas State University.
Dr Joe Bailey shares his research into the construction, role, and challenges of the Nashville & Northwestern RR during the American Civil War. It was a key rail line that supported Union advances into Southern territory. His information presented here is part of a book that he is planning to publish in the foreseeable future.
